King Features creative team spent the past year and a half researching, refreshing and reimagining Betty. The new Betty Boop merchandise is titled Betty Boop Now, and had been in development for the past 18 months by King Features and the Fleischer Studios and the leading design partners. Since the new design made its debut, several manufacturers began rolling out products based on it. The design first appeared in Elle magazine in early April, 2017. On the 19th of October, 2017 Betty Boop was given a brand new design, in which also changed the shape of her head.
